How FundingLens handles workspace and source data.
This privacy overview explains how FundingLens handles organisation, user, source, billing, email and AI processing data while the service is in MVP operation.
FundingLens is designed for organisations assessing funding opportunities. It is not a place to store special-category personal data, beneficiary case files or confidential application evidence unless a specific secure upload workflow is provided.
Data We Collect
We collect account email addresses, organisation profile details, website URLs supplied during onboarding, saved opportunities, deadline preferences, alert preferences, support messages and billing state needed to operate the service.
Public funding data is stored separately from organisation profile data. Each opportunity should retain provenance such as source URL, fetched timestamp, source fields, verified facts, confidence, caveats and human review status.
How We Use Data
- To create and secure user accounts and organisation workspaces.
- To match organisation profiles against funding opportunities.
- To show eligibility caveats, readiness checklists, deadlines and saved opportunities.
- To send account, onboarding, billing and product emails where required.
- To keep audit records for AI outputs, source citations, review status and safety checks.
AI Processing
FundingLens separates verified source facts from AI inference. AI outputs can help summarise eligibility, caveats and draft notes, but users must check the official funder page before applying. We do not use AI outputs as a guarantee of eligibility, award success or legal advice.
Production AI calls are routed through an OpenRouter-compatible layer with model routing, usage logging, deterministic fallbacks, source citations, human review status and spend controls. Ingestion should process all eligible source records across controlled batches rather than silently skipping opportunities because a per-task call count was reached.
Email Preferences
Transactional emails may include sign-in codes, onboarding updates, billing notices and product alerts. Marketing or outbound emails require suppression checks, unsubscribe support and explicit send approval before any real campaign is sent.
Billing Data
Payments and billing management are handled by Stripe. FundingLens stores server-side billing identifiers and subscription state so plan access is based on verified Stripe updates, not browser-side assumptions.
Retention and Deletion
We keep workspace, source, billing and audit records for as long as needed to provide the service, support account security, maintain source provenance and meet operational obligations. You can request account or organisation deletion by contacting hello@fundinglens.co.uk.
